Can we start lodging applications to study at the Northern Sydney Institute for Semester 2, 2016?
Yes, applications are now open for Semester 2, 2016.

What can we do if a student has an offer from the Northern Sydney Institute, but has not been able to get the visa on time to commence study in Semester 1, 2016?
In such a situation, the student can defer his/her enrolment to Semester 2, 2016 provided that the student is still interested in pursuing his/her studies and also provided that there is an intake for the particular course in NSI in Semester 2, 2016. As the student’s agent, you can send an email to [email protected] or to the Case Manager ， citing the reasons and requesting to issue a deferred Offer Letter.

What is the current processing time to get a Provisional Offer or a Full Offer?
The Northern Sydney Institute received a large volume of applications from registered agents in January and February 2016 for international student enrolments for Semester 1, 2016 . Due to this, the Admissions Team could not start processing applications received for the July 2016 intake.

Now that most enrolments are streamlined, the Admissions Team has commenced processing Semester 2, applications. We already have 80 applications in the pipeline for Semester 2, 2016. The current processing time is between 7 to 10 working days. We are trying our best to reduce the waiting time for offer letters. Please ensure that documentation you submit is complete in order to facilitate prompt processing.

Can a student change course/campus a few days after enrolment?
In our experience, this is an issue – we have not had many requests from students to transfer out. However we have been contacted by a number of registered agents that students are unable to transfer into Northern Sydney Institute Campuses after joining another Institute. So our advice would be to please counsel students and request them to choose the course and campus carefully as there is very little chances that students can change courses/campuses after enrolment.

If a student is onshore, how can you assist in assessing their English language skills to identify how many weeks of English study they will require?
The TAFE English Language Centre (TELC) at Meadowbank Campus offers the TAFE NSW English Entry Test for international students or for visitors who are already in Australia and aiming to study a vocational course at TAFE NSW who need an English language assessment for either direct entry into a course or a recommendation for further English language tuition.
